Fifth Day of Christmas Sampler and Tree - Cross Stitch - Hello from Liz Mathews

on the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me… five gold rings…”
Or in this case- five gold embroidery hoops!

Within this chart pack you will receive two separate patterns: one for the tree and one for the sampler! General finishing instructions for the tree are included, but I recommend going to my Floss Tube channel (Hello From Liz Mathews) for a highly detailed step-by-step video tutorial.

The sampler was stitched with one strand of Needlepoint Inc silk over two threads of 40 count Fog linen from Picture This Plus.

The tree was stitched using two strands of DMC thread over two threads of 36 count “linen” colored linen from Weeks Dye Works.

Both versions are worked using cross stitches, back stitches and rice stitch. Use only one strand of thread to complete the back stitching.

Rice stitches are used to spell the work PEACE in the embroidery hoops and are worked over four threads of linen using. Cross stitches could also be used.
