Esther Fallon Lau is a self-taught indie surface pattern designer. Her work is inspired by nature, folktales and her multicultural upbringing. The mere thought of designing vintagey florals, birds and animals, landscapes, seascapes, fantasy beasts and geometrics is enough to make her lose sleep. Esther delights in giving an off-beat twist to on-trend themes, creating whimsical patterns that are enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Her signature style uses a combination of watercolour, ink work and textural overlays to give a rich, organic, hand-drawn feel.
