Upcoming Summer Stitch-a-long: The Aunt's Quilt!
It's time for another summer stitch-a-long! This year we are making The Aunt's Quilt by Gina Gregory. This quilt was designed for a program at Amitie Textiles, a quilt store in Australia owned by Jen Kingwell. We are so excited that we were able to get our hands on the pattern! Our color palette will vary slightly from the original, in true Mt. Creek fashion. We will be using Jen Kingwell fabric, her fabulous Lollies which provide a great variety for applique, and some black and whites as a nice contrast to the bright colors in Jen's fabrics. Here you can see some of our blocks as an example.
This really is the best picture I could get of the original quilt/pattern cover. It's a pretty quilt, but it's hard to tell from the pattern. I like a little more contrast in my quilts that's why I've decided to use black and whites as my background for the colorful Jen Kingwell prints.
This is a 12 week block of the week program, kicking off June 8th. Each week you will receive fabric to make one 14" pieced block and one 14" applique block (or two small applique blocks). The border and binding fabric will be sent with the last block. The finished size of the quilt is 93" x 73".
The price is $18 per week. Or if you pay up front, the price is just $185. That's a $31 savings!
