061822: Quilt Hoodie Class



Give that old quilt new life - make it a wearable piece of art! 
Teacher Lynn Sykes will guide you through turning an old quilt, or a quilted piece of your favorite fabric, into your next favorite hoodie. 

Supply List: 
  • Your favorite hoodie to use to make your pattern (you will not cut up the hoodie)

  • Pattern Ease or freezer paper (you need enough to make your pattern)

  • An old quilt, pre-quilted fabric, or quilted fabric you make yourself (I easily finished my class sample with 3 yards of pre-quilted fabric.)

  • Pins

  • Paper scissors

  • Fabric scissors

  • Serrated tracing wheel (optional) 

  • Pencil

  • Overcast presser foot (if your machine comes with one) 

  • Zigzag presser foot

  • Regular presser foot 

  • Thread to match material

  • Extra wide double fold bias tape to match fabric (optional) 

  • Sewing machine

  • Sewing machine foot peddle and cord 

  • New sewing machine needle

Classroom Requirements:

  • We are mindful of physical distancing and have a large classroom to allow ample space for each student. Please do not come to class if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness. We support your decision to wear masks, but they are not mandatory.
  • You will be in class during lunch hour. You may pack a lunch to eat in the classroom. We have a refrigerator available for students to use. 
  • Please bring drinks in a *SCREW TOP* container to avoid messes and accidents.
  • Close toed shoes are highly recommended.

Class Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your class 48 hours or more before class, you will be given a shop credit in the amount of the class. If you cancel your class within 48 hours of the class, your class fee will NOT be refundable.

Lynn Sykes is a local quilter, and quilt guild president from Knoxville TN. She has been teaching with mountain creek for three years. Alongside teaching Lynn used to be a Machine Educator for Juki.
